Bus Services on Union Street
The operation of bus services by First Group on Union Street is quite good, with buses running quite frequently. The price of travelling on First buses within Aberdeen varies and depends on the number of stops you travel, your age/occupation and the type of ticket you purchase. Children under 5 travel on First buses for free.

Farecards
Passengers can travel without the fuss of having to carry change around with them by purchasing a farecard. Farecards are available in £5, 10 and £20 denominations and each time the card is used, the value of your journey is deducted from the remaining total left on the farecard. These can be purchased at the First Travel Centre.
FirstDay
Travellers have the choice of purchasing a single FirstDay peak, a single FirstDay off-peak ticket or FirstDay family tickets (peak and off-peak, group of up to 4 with no more than 2 adults), which can all be purchased on the buses. Peak tickets can be used at any time of day whereas off-peak tickets can be only be used after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day during the weekends.

FirstWeek
FirstWeek tickets are valid for unlimited travel for 7 consecutive days. However, unlike FirstDay tickets, travellers are required to take along a passport-sized photo to either the First Travel Centre or First Reception where weekly travels cards can be purchased. First reception has a photo booth where you can take photos.

FirstMonth / First3Month
Like the FirstWeek travel tickets, FirstMonth and First3Months tickets allow travellers unlimited bus journeys for 1 month and 3 consecutive months respectively. Again, travellers can purchase these at First Travel Centre, First Reception and certain Post Offices across the city.

Students
Buses are the cheapest and most convenient form of transport for many students and First offer discounts to those studying at The Robert Gordon University, University of Aberdeen and Aberdeen College (students must show their student card whatever travel ticket they purchase).

Park & Ride
The Park & Ride service is ideal for shoppers who require a place to park their car and need frequent use of the bus. This bus service operates from the parking sites Bridge of Don to Kingswells via Union Street and costs £2.00 per person. Under 16s travel free when travelling with an adult. Tickets can only be purchased at the parking sites but holders of FirstDay, FirstWeek, FirstMonth and First3Month tickets can board Park & Ride buses.

Night Buses
Night buses are the best way to get home from a night out. For a flat fare of £2.30, travellers can board the Red, Orange, Claret, Yellow, Turquoise and Indigo lines every hour Saturday and Sunday mornings.
